‘Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Job Fair–2026’ was organized on 24th March 2026 at Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, Bhiwapur, under the banner of ‘Career Katta’, to provide employment opportunities to the youth of Nagpur district. The Event was jointly organized by the District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center, Nagpur, the Model Career Center, Nagpur, and the Career Katta Centres of Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, Shri Binzani City College (Autonomous), Nagpur, and Antyodaya Institute of Science and Research Center, Devgram. Representatives from nine companies participated and conducted preliminary interviews for 392 vacancies across industrial, IT, banking, automobile, and retail sectors. A total of 251 candidates from Bhiwapur, Pauni, Nagpur, Kuhi, Umred, and nearby areas attended the fair, with 164 candidates shortlisted in the initial round. The Programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Sunanda Bajaj, Asstt. Commissioner, District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center, Nagpur and presided over by Dr. Jobi George, Principal of our College. Asso. Prof. Dr. R. K. Quraishi served as the Programme Coordinator, while faculty members and partner institutions extended valuable support for the successful conduct of the Event.

The Guidance Centre for Competitive Examinations successfully organized a specialized six-day lecture series for competitive exam aspirants, which was completely driven by the internal faculty members of the college. While the initial tentative schedule was drafted for March 16, 2026, to March 21, 2026, the workshop sessions were strategically rescheduled and conducted smoothly across six days based on the mutual availability and academic convenience of the participating teachers. Held daily from 12:20 p.m. to 1:50 p.m., the lecture series provided in-depth coverage of core syllabus components crucial for competitive exams.

The comprehensive curriculum was delivered by dedicated faculty teams across the following specialized areas: Maharashtra Focus & Administration- Covered by Dr. Motiraj Chavhan. Polity & Fundamental Rights: Conducted by Dr. Mangesh Kadu. General Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Environment): Guided by a joint team comprising Dr. Yogesh More, Asst. Prof. Amit Thakre, Dr. Ashwini Kadu, Asst. Prof. A. Kedar, and Asst. Prof. D. Dhamadhar. Current Events & Government Schemes: Conducted by Dr. Sunil Shinde. Mathematics, Commerce & Accounts: Delivered by Dr. Ravikant Mishra. Marathi Grammar & Usage: Conducted by Dr. Madhukar Nandanwar.

By shifting to an internal faculty model, the institution successfully optimized its in-house academic expertise to provide continuous, high-quality guidance tailored directly to the students’ needs.

Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya organized the formal felicitation of retired Headmistress Mrs. Sindhutai Raghushe at the Bhausaheb Mulak Memorial Indoor Sports Complex during the college’s cultural festival, UMANG 2026 on March 13, 2026. Held in commemoration of International Women’s Day, the ceremony honoured Mrs. Raghushe for her distinguished contributions to the field of education. Principal Dr. Jobi George, along with the organizing team and invited dignitaries, presented her with a beautifully framed write-up as a token of respect. In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Raghushe shared valuable insights on academics and student development, expressing her deep gratitude to the institution for the recognition. The Guidance Centre for Competitive Examinations at Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya organized a Quiz Competition on Current Affairs and General Knowledge for the annual Cultural Fest ‘UMANG 2026’ on 9 March 2026. The event was open to students from all streams, including Arts, Commerce and Science, to test their awareness of national and international events. A total of 60 students registered and actively participated in the competition, which commenced with a pen-and-paper preliminary round before moving into a live stage finale. Organized under the coordination of Member Secretary, Guidance Centre for Competitive Examinations Dr. Vinita S. Virgandham, the initiative successfully boosted the competitive spirit and intellectual prowess of the students. The high-achieving participants namely; Mr. Ritesh Uke (B.Com.-III) and Mr. Manthan Boudh (B.Sc.-II) received medals and certificates of merit for their outstanding performance.

Under the aegis of IQAC, the Department of English, organized a subject-based Quiz Competition on 11th March 2026 under the banner of the ‘Subject Literary Association of English’. The Event aimed to enhance students’ interest in English language and literature, strengthen subject knowledge, and foster a competitive spirit. Twelve students from all three years participated in four teams, competing across four rounds: subject-based questions, image identification, video clips, and listening skills. The Programme, attended by 46 students, was conducted using audio-visual aids. ‘Group-D’ secured first place with 180 marks, followed by Groups A, B, and C. The winning team comprised Ms. Sejal Baghel, Ms. Muskan Maraskolhe, and Ms. Vaishnavi Titarmare. Certificates were awarded to all participants, and the winners received a cash prize of ₹1,500 during the Annual Day Function.

Students’ Development Department, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur  had arranged three days  Inter-Collegiate Youth Festival “Yuvarang-2026” from 10th February, 2026 to 12th February, 2026. Fifteen students of our Institution participated in the competitions such as Debate, On the Spot Painting, Poster Making, Rangoli, Quiz, and Folk Dance.  This initiative was taken by the College to encourage, boost and blossom the inherent abilities of our students to participate in the University Level Competitions.

Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya’s Women’s Study Centre, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and in collaboration with the Taluka Health Office, successfully organized a comprehensive Health Check-up Camp on February 2, 2026. The professional medical consultation and routine screening were held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Vithal Rukmai Mandir premises in Juni Gujari, Bhiwapur. Principal Dr. Jobi George strongly encouraged the organization of this camp, highlighting that extending professional medical care to the doorstep of the community is a core social responsibility of the institution. Following the event’s massive success, the Principal highly appreciated the organizing team’s dedication and inclusive approach in accommodating everyone.

Although initially requested in the official correspondence as an initiative specifically targeting local women and the institution’s girl students, the event naturally transformed into a broader community outreach program because a Bhagwat Saptah religious discourse was concurrently underway within the temple premises, the organizers welcomed all attendees, extending services to men and students from nearby schools who sought medical consultation. Consequently, the camp achieved a significant community impact, providing vital healthcare services and professional screenings to around 250 grateful participants. The successful execution of this welfare initiative was coordinated by Dr. Vinita S. Virgandham, Member Secretary of the Women’s Study Centre, alongside Dr. Motiraj Chavhan, NSS Programme Officer and NSS Volunteers  of the college.

The Guidance Centre for Competitive Examinations at Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully organized a “Five-Day Free Workshop on Competitive Examinations-The Core Pillars-II”. This collaborative training program was conducted in partnership with the Spectrum Academy Nagpur Branch from January 27, 2026, to January 31, 2026. Sessions were held daily from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Smart Classroom on the First Floor of the Administrative Building. Over the course of five days, highly experienced subject experts delivered intensive guidance on key subjects, namely History, Geography/Current Affairs, Polity, Mathematics/Reasoning, and Marathi. During the inaugural session, Principal Dr. Jobi George motivated the aspirants by emphasizing that consistent discipline and conceptual clarity are the ultimate keys to cracking competitive exams, while on the concluding day, he urged them to carry forward this learning with unwavering determination. Mandatory registration and overall coordination for this event were efficiently managed by the organizing team, including Dr. Vinita S. Virgandham, Dr. Motiraj Chavhan, and representatives from Spectrum Academy, Nagpur.
