Library

Welcome to the Library & Information Centre, Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya.  It was established in the year 1990.  It serves as a knowledge hub containing resources not only in the form of print but also in e-resources.  The library aims at developing a comprehensive collection of documents that is useful for the faculty and students in their education and research activities in the institute.

The Library is open to all students and staff members from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all working days.  There is a rich collection of volumes of textbooks, reference books, back volumes of journals, National and International Journals in all branches of science, arts, commerce.  The library makes efforts to increase this collection.  These books are classified according to UDC classification scheme and Open Access System is followed to faculties and Post Graduate students in the Library.  Library members are allowed to access all materials (such as books, journals, magazines, e-books and e-journals, etc.) available in the library.  All Library functions such as Acquisition, circulation and cataloguing have been automated using integrated software ERP such as Saral with web OPAC.

Scanning & Photocopying

The scanning and photocopy facility is available in the library.  The students and faculty members can take photocopy for a nominal charge (Rs.1/- per page).

Lending service.

Lending services is provided to all the students and faculty members.  Undergraduate and Post Graduate students are entitled to borrow 2 books at a time for a period of 7 days.  Faculties are entitled to borrow 10 books for one semester.

Reference service.

Reference services make it possible for the students and faculties to know and use the latest information for their education and research.

Inter -Library Loan Service.

Books/journals not available with the library may be obtained from other libraries on request.

Book Bank Scheme

Student who wants to keep the book for full semester period can issue the book via book bank scheme.  Student should deposit the full cost of the book, when issuing the book.  While returning the book, 10% of the deposited amount will be deducted and balance amount returned to the student.

 Lending

The borrowing/lending privileges of books are only extended to the students & faculties of the institution.  UG & PG students can borrow 2 books, on the ID card.  Faculties can borrow 10 numbers of books on their ID card.  ID card is compulsory for verification while issuing books.

The Fine Rules are as follows

The UG/PG students’ books are issued for 7 days.  After the due period a fine of Rs. 1/- per day till the return of the book is charged.
