Under the auspices of the Subject Literary Association, Department of Sports and Physical Education, National Cadet Corps, and National Service Scheme jointly organized the 12th International Yoga Day at Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, Bhiwapur. The event was presided over by Dr. Jobi George, Principal of our College. Mr. Lokesh Wagh, served as the Special Guest. Volunteers from the National Cadet Corps and National Service Scheme, along with the Faculty and Staff Members were present on this occasion.
Volunteers of the National Cadet Corps, National Service Scheme along with Mr. Lokesh Wagh demonstrated various types of Yoga asanas such as Tadasana, Padmasana, Vrikshasana, Padahastasana, Trikonasana, Pavanmuktasana, Bhujangasana, Shalabhasana, Yogmudra, Paschimottanasana, Sarvangasana, Halasana, Karnapidasana, Viparita Karani, Chakrasana, Setu Bandhasana, etc., highlighting the importance of Yoga for a healthy and disease-free life.

On 10 April 2026, under the aegis of IQAC, ‘Students’ Guidance & Placement Cell’ of Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, in association with ‘Param Skills Training India Pvt. Limited, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’, organized ‘Open Campus Recruitment Drive’ for the vacancies in ‘Bajaj Electrical Limited, Pune’

The Inaugural Ceremony of the same was presided over by Prof. Dr. Sunil Shinde, Head, Department of Economics. Mr. Hemant Harshe, Placement Officer of Param Skills Training India Pvt. Limited, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’ and Centre Co-ordinator Mr. Ram Gadekar, along with IQAC Coordinator of our College Associate Prof. Dr. Anita Mahawadiwar, were present on the Dias.

In his Introductory Speech, Mr. Hemant Harshe stated that ‘Param Skill Training India Private Limited’, provides free employment-oriented training to students and also assists them in securing jobs. In his Presidential Address, Dr. Shinde emphasized that Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, is continuously striving for the holistic development of students and is not limited to imparting degree education but is also focused on creating employment opportunities.

The Proceedings of the Inaugural Ceremony was conducted by Associate Prof. Dr. R.K. Quraishi, Training and Placement Officer of our College, while Associate Prof. Dr. Rajesh Bahurupi proposed the formal Vote of Thanks. Immediately after the Inaugural Ceremony, the Personal Interview process commenced.

A total of 160 candidates appeared in the interview for the post of ‘Trainee.’ Selected candidates will receive a Gross Salary of ₹28,000 per month, for a 12-hour shift. Additionally, concessional rates for breakfast and meals will be provided in the company canteen. Female candidates will be assigned only day shifts, while male candidates will have rotating day and night shifts on a weekly basis.

A total of 29 students from ‘Arts and Commerce College, Bhisi (District Chandrapur)’ participated in this Campus Recruitment Drive. Dr. Jobi George, Principal of Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, congratulated all the candidates for their enthusiastic participation. Meanwhile, after the preliminary screening process, 59 candidates have been shortlisted by ‘Param Skills Training India Pvt. Limited’, for the Second Round.

‘Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Job Fair–2026’ was organized on 24th March 2026 at Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, Bhiwapur, under the banner of ‘Career Katta’, to provide employment opportunities to the youth of Nagpur district. The Event was jointly organized by the District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center, Nagpur, the Model Career Center, Nagpur, and the Career Katta Centres of Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, Shri Binzani City College (Autonomous), Nagpur, and Antyodaya Institute of Science and Research Center, Devgram. Representatives from nine companies participated and conducted preliminary interviews for 392 vacancies across industrial, IT, banking, automobile, and retail sectors. A total of 251 candidates from Bhiwapur, Pauni, Nagpur, Kuhi, Umred, and nearby areas attended the fair, with 164 candidates shortlisted in the initial round. The Programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Sunanda Bajaj, Asstt. Commissioner, District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center, Nagpur and presided over by Dr. Jobi George, Principal of our College. Asso. Prof. Dr. R. K. Quraishi served as the Programme Coordinator, while faculty members and partner institutions extended valuable support for the successful conduct of the Event.

The Guidance Centre for Competitive Examinations successfully organized a specialized six-day lecture series for competitive exam aspirants, which was completely driven by the internal faculty members of the college. While the initial tentative schedule was drafted for March 16, 2026, to March 21, 2026, the workshop sessions were strategically rescheduled and conducted smoothly across six days based on the mutual availability and academic convenience of the participating teachers. Held daily from 12:20 p.m. to 1:50 p.m., the lecture series provided in-depth coverage of core syllabus components crucial for competitive exams.

The comprehensive curriculum was delivered by dedicated faculty teams across the following specialized areas: Maharashtra Focus & Administration- Covered by Dr. Motiraj Chavhan. Polity & Fundamental Rights: Conducted by Dr. Mangesh Kadu. General Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Environment): Guided by a joint team comprising Dr. Yogesh More, Asst. Prof. Amit Thakre, Dr. Ashwini Kadu, Asst. Prof. A. Kedar, and Asst. Prof. D. Dhamadhar. Current Events & Government Schemes: Conducted by Dr. Sunil Shinde. Mathematics, Commerce & Accounts: Delivered by Dr. Ravikant Mishra. Marathi Grammar & Usage: Conducted by Dr. Madhukar Nandanwar.

By shifting to an internal faculty model, the institution successfully optimized its in-house academic expertise to provide continuous, high-quality guidance tailored directly to the students’ needs.

Held in commemoration of International Women’s Day, the ceremony honoured Mrs. Raghushe for her distinguished contributions to the field of education. Principal Dr. Jobi George, along with the organizing team and invited dignitaries, presented her with a beautifully framed write-up as a token of respect. In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Raghushe shared valuable insights on academics and student development, expressing her deep gratitude to the institution for the recognition. 76th Republic Day Celebrated

On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya organized a demonstration of Ancient Indian Games. Under this initiative, students from the junior and senior colleges presented demonstrations of Lathi, duelling (sword), Dandpatta, Bhala, Bhowara, and Chakri. The objective of the programme was to familiarize participants with ancient Indian martial arts and traditional war techniques.
The chief guests—Dr. Narayanraoji Lambat, recipient of Krushi Bhushan Award (M.S.), Mr. Prataprao Borade, Mr. Shankarseth Gupta, and Mr. Vishwanathji Waghamare—along with the chairperson of the programme, Principal Dr. Jobi George, Principal of KDK International School Mrs. Kirthi Nair, and several parents and students, were highly impressed by the performances and expressed keen interest in learning these martial skills.

Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya celebrated National Science Day on 28 February 2026 under the guidance of Principal Dr. Jobi George with great enthusiasm by organizing a grand programme titled “Scientia–2026”. The highlight of the event was a State-Level Students’ Seminar Competition, which witnessed the active participation of 50 students from various colleges across the state. The programme aimed to promote scientific temperament and innovative thinking among students. The event was presided over by Dr. Sunil Shinde, who emphasized the importance of scientific inquiry and rational thinking in nation-building. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Coordinator, Dr. Anita Mahavadiwar, highlighted the role of academic platforms like Scientia–2026 in enhancing students’ presentation skills and research orientation. The Organising Secretary, Dr. Ashwini Dhonge, welcomed the dignitaries and participants, outlining the objectives of the seminar competition. The programme was efficiently coordinated by Asst. Prof. Amit Thakare, who ensured smooth execution of the event. The evaluation of presentations was carried out by the esteemed judges, Dr. Sachin Kubde and Asst. Prof. Ashwini Ramteke, who assessed the participants based on content quality, originality, presentation skills, and overall impact.
First Prize was awarded to Pranav Ramchandra Lavhe from Suryodaya College of Engineering and Technology. Second Prize was secured by Saurav Bisan Sontakke from Science College Pauni and Third Prize was won by Ruchi Shivshankar Kawale from Dada Ramchand Bakhru Sindhu Mahavidyalaya.

The Guidance Centre for Competitive Examinations at Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya organized a Quiz Competition on Current Affairs and General Knowledge for the annual Cultural Fest ‘UMANG 2026’ on 9 March 2026. The event was open to students from all streams, including Arts, Commerce and Science, to test their awareness of national and international events. A total of 60 students registered and actively participated in the competition, which commenced with a pen-and-paper preliminary round before moving into a live stage finale. Organized under the coordination of Member Secretary, Guidance Centre for Competitive Examinations Dr. Vinita S. Virgandham, the initiative successfully boosted the competitive spirit and intellectual prowess of the students. The high-achieving participants namely; Mr. Ritesh Uke (B.Com.-III) and Mr. Manthan Boudh (B.Sc.-II) received medals and certificates of merit for their outstanding performance.
