Today, the Birth Anniversary Program of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule celebrated at Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya on 11th April, 2026. Alongside, Prof. Rajendra Nandagawali gave his expertise speech on the life and works of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. At this moment, Dr. Sunil Shinde, Dr. Anita Mahawadiwar, Dr. Madhukar Nandanwar, Dr. Motiraj Chavhan, Dr. Raheel Quraishi, Dr. Rajesh Bahurupi, Dr. Vinita Virgandham, Dr. Yogesh More, Dr. Ashwini Dhonge, Dr. Ravikant Mishra and students of our College were prominently present during the program.

76th Republic Day Celebrated

On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya organized a demonstration of Ancient Indian Games. Under this initiative, students from the junior and senior colleges presented demonstrations of Lathi, duelling (sword), Dandpatta, Bhala, Bhowara, and Chakri. The objective of the programme was to familiarize participants with ancient Indian martial arts and traditional war techniques.
The chief guests—Dr. Narayanraoji Lambat, recipient of Krushi Bhushan Award (M.S.), Mr. Prataprao Borade, Mr. Shankarseth Gupta, and Mr. Vishwanathji Waghamare—along with the chairperson of the programme, Principal Dr. Jobi George, Principal of KDK International School Mrs. Kirthi Nair, and several parents and students, were highly impressed by the performances and expressed keen interest in learning these martial skills.

Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya celebrated National Science Day on 28 February 2026 under the guidance of Principal Dr. Jobi George with great enthusiasm by organizing a grand programme titled “Scientia–2026”. The highlight of the event was a State-Level Students’ Seminar Competition, which witnessed the active participation of 50 students from various colleges across the state. The programme aimed to promote scientific temperament and innovative thinking among students. The event was presided over by Dr. Sunil Shinde, who emphasized the importance of scientific inquiry and rational thinking in nation-building. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Coordinator, Dr. Anita Mahavadiwar, highlighted the role of academic platforms like Scientia–2026 in enhancing students’ presentation skills and research orientation. The Organising Secretary, Dr. Ashwini Dhonge, welcomed the dignitaries and participants, outlining the objectives of the seminar competition. The programme was efficiently coordinated by Asst. Prof. Amit Thakare, who ensured smooth execution of the event. The evaluation of presentations was carried out by the esteemed judges, Dr. Sachin Kubde and Asst. Prof. Ashwini Ramteke, who assessed the participants based on content quality, originality, presentation skills, and overall impact.
First Prize was awarded to Pranav Ramchandra Lavhe from Suryodaya College of Engineering and Technology. Second Prize was secured by Saurav Bisan Sontakke from Science College Pauni and Third Prize was won by Ruchi Shivshankar Kawale from Dada Ramchand Bakhru Sindhu Mahavidyalaya.

State-Level Workshop for Teachers Explores the Future of AI in Education; Vision 2047 Shared
In a significant move toward academic modernization, a State-Level Workshop titled “Transforming Indian Education System Through AI: Vision 2047” was successfully hosted today. The event was a collaborative initiative between Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, Bhiwapur, and Arts and Commerce College, Bhisi, organized under the aegis of their respective Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) chapters.
The workshop, which commenced at 10:30 a.m., was presided over by Dr. Jobi George, Principal of Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya. Joining him on the dais was Dr. Vitthal Thaware, Officiating Principal of Arts and Commerce College, Bhisi. Both leaders emphasized the urgency of integrating technological advancements with traditional teaching values to meet the goals of the “Vision 2047” roadmap for India.
The highlight of the event was the expert session led by Prof. Dr. Tushar Chaudhari, Chairman, Board of Studies (Commerce). Dr. Chaudhari provided a masterclass on the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence, explaining how AI can reshape teaching-learning processes, streamline research practices, and foster institutional development. His session was lauded for being accessible to teachers from diverse disciplines, effectively bridging the gap between complex technology and everyday classroom management.
Conducted in a hybrid mode, the workshop saw enthusiastic participation from educators across the state. Present on the occasion were IQAC Coordinators Dr. Rajesh N. Sonkusare and Dr. Anita Mahawadiwar, along with Organizing Secretary Dr. Rajesh Bahurupi and Convener Dr. Ashwini Dhonge. The proceedings of the programme were elegantly hosted by Dr. Ravikant Mishra.

Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya wins Taekwondo Championship

Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya created history by winning the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj (R.T.M.) Nagpur University Inter-Collegiate Taekwondo Championship for the third year in a row.

The seven-member team (4 boys and 3 girls) delivered a dominant performance, securing 6 Gold, 3 Silver, and 11 Bronze medals. The tournament was organized by S.N. Mor Arts, Commerce & G.D. Saraf Science College, Tumsar, under the aegis of the Department of Sports, R.T.M. Nagpur University.

Cultural Committee, under the auspices of its IQAC Chapter, organized the Birth Anniversary Programme of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on 20th February, 2026 in the Administrative Block of our College. Garland was offered to the Portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the hands of Dr. Jobi George, the Principal of Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, Bhiwapur, Prof. Dr. Sunil Shinde and Associate Prof. Dr. Mangesh Kadu. All the Teaching, Non-teaching Faculties and students of our Institution paid homage to the portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by offering flowers.
