Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya’s Department of Chemistry, under the auspices of IQAC, organized a One-Day Workshop on ‘Phenyl Making’ with the objective of providing students with practical knowledge and skill-based training in the preparation of household cleaning products. Students enthusiastically participated in the Workshop and actively prepared phenyl under the guidance of the faculty members. During the practical session, students learned about the chemicals used in phenyl preparation, the step-by-step manufacturing process, safety precautions, quality testing, packaging, and storage techniques. The Workshop also highlighted the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and environmentally responsible practices. The Workshop was coordinated under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Chemistry, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ashwini P. Dhonge, with the support of Asst. Prof. Piyush N. Raut, Asst. Prof. Neha D. Nannaware, and Asst. Prof. Chetan S. Sontakke. Addressing the participants, Principal Dr. Jobi George appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of skill-based education, encouraging students to acquire practical knowledge that enhances self-employment opportunities and entrepreneurial abilities. The faculty members also motivated students to develop practical skills that can be applied in entrepreneurship and everyday life.
The programme concluded successfully with enthusiastic student participation, making it an enriching hands-on learning experience and further reinforcing the Department of Chemistry’s commitment to promoting practical, skill-oriented education.
