Established in 2012, the Department of Physics offers Physics as a major subject to all aspirants of the B.Sc. programme under the guidelines of NEP-2020. The department conducts bridge courses for first-year students as per the syllabus designed by the departmental staff. It also organizes remedial classes for slow learners and provides guidance to advanced learners. The department has flexibility in conducting tests, tutorials, and seminars.
\nThe Subject Literary Association actively engages students in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The department extends learning beyond the classroom through field visits and by arranging guest lectures by eminent personalities.
\nIn addition to teaching, faculty members are actively engaged in research activities and have published papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals. A major research project has been sanctioned by the IKS Centre, Ministry of Education, Government of India, for the academic year 2026\u201327.
\nThe department aims to play a leading role in bringing revolutionary changes in society through scientific and research activities. It places strong emphasis on ICT-based teaching\u2013learning methodologies and provides a platform for enhancing the overall quality and skills of students.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Laboratory <\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

The department provides well-equipped laboratory facilities for FY, SY, and TY B.Sc. students. The laboratories are designed to support effective practical learning and are furnished with modern apparatus and instruments required for various experiments. The laboratories are spacious, well-ventilated, and ensure that each student has sufficient individual working space. A dark room is also available for conducting specific experiments. All necessary instruments are properly maintained to ensure smooth and safe practical work. The department has its own well-maintained Departmental Library for students. It contains a sufficient number of textbooks, reference books, and other study materials related to the curriculum. New books are regularly added as per the academic requirements of students and faculty.
